REFER A SCHOLAR
Dakshana is striving to reach out to deserving and needy students in Class 12 from government or government-aided schools in India. These students can apply for the Dakshana 1-year coaching program to prepare for IIT and medical entrance exams. If you know of a deserving student in a government school or are working closely with a government school in your geography, kindly let them know of the Dakshana On-year program. Applications for the Joint Dakshana Selection Test are out normally by July/August every year. Kindly share this link with a student or a school and help them apply/reach us: here.
MENTOR A SCHOLAR
IIT/NIT alumni based close to Pune, Silvassa, Bundi (Rajasthan), Lucknow, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Kottayam (Kerala) can serve as mentors/role models/supplemental tutors for our incredibly bright and driven Dakshana scholars at these various locations. Mentorship would include motivating the scholar while he/she is in the coaching program and then guiding them as they go through college and build promising careers for themselves.
‘Me For You’ is a recently launched mentorship program at Dakshana that invites young and senior executives in the industry to be mentors for Dakshana Alumni at the various IITs and Medical Colleges across India. A large part of our alumni base are first-time college learners in their families and need guidance and counselling support during the college years. The mentorship program does not involve any financial support. In case your organisation would like to partner with us on the ‘Me For You’ Mentorship Program, we would love to hear from you at: email@example.com.
Hindi to English translators
Many of our Dakshana Scholar application essays are in Hindi, and we need these translated periodically. These volunteers can be anywhere on the planet and need to have exceptional Hindi reading and English writing skills.
Conduct medical camps
Once a year, we conduct a health-check of our scholars at the Dakshana Campuses. If you are a medical professional and are willing to volunteer your services, on one day in the year, at any of our centres or if you are part of an organisation that can help us with the basic check of ENT, eyes, dental and physical well-being of our scholars, we would love to hear from you at firstname.lastname@example.org. Each centre has approximately 100-400 scholars.
