JNV West Champaran I'd like to become a Dakshana scholar and hopefully attend IIT
I, Vijay Kumar am a poor farmer?s son.i am very happy to receive the Dakshana scholarship. Earlier I thought that I will not be able to study after my ISc. But now I know that I can do a lot of things.
I got to know about Dakshana when I was in my 9th class. When I was in my 10th class, DC Sir in my school told us a lot of things about Dakshana and also encouraged us to study for the selection test. It was from that day that we made a group of 4 to 5 students and started studying maths for the exam. After the first term exam , we realised that if miss this golden opportunity , then we would be very sad. When I got the chance to appear for the exam, my happiness knew no bounds and from the same day I started preparing for the exam and today I am here.
My Own Story:
Before appearing for entrance at Navadaya Vidyalaya, I studied in a school in a village.I had never travelled in a travelled before I appeared for the entrance for the Navodaya. This was my first time in a train.
When I was in my 8th class, I went to appear for the Patna NTSE exam and then appeared for the Dakshana exam. I travelled for four days in a train when I got the golden opportunity to join the coaching at Dakshana.
I am telling all this because I am a very poor boy who would not even have studied till 10th had I not been selected by the Navodaya. But because of the blessings of my parents and teachers , I am able to prepare for the IIT JEE entrance exam today.i am not a very brilliant student. I take time to understand things.I am not very strong in English and have started studying English only after leaving the Navodaya.i have not been able to improve upon my English. I also feel like being fluent in English but my base is very weak. I can read Science and Maths. I agree to the fact that I am unable to understand things because my English is weak. I have started reading the newspaper to improve my English. I firmly believe that I can achieve everything here. I have guidance of very learned teachers here.
