Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
I have a small family of six members. My father ,Shyamal kumar Shit is a small farmer and he earns our livelihood through farming.My mother,Barnali shit is a housewife and she also used to help my father in farming.Both of them work very hard to see our family happy. My brother, Subhankar Shit is 15 years old and is now studying in class 10th in nearby govt. high school.

Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
I should be awarded the dakshana scholarship because I am in dire need to ace IIT-JEE exam.As I come from a poor farmer's family,my father can't afford me to have a good coaching in private institutes.So being not economically well enogh,I really need this scholarship to achieve my dream.

Q3. What is your ambition in life?
My ambition in life is to become a good engineer and be successful in life.I wish to become an IITian and my self peace would be on helping my family in all sort of problems.

Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
If I ever somehow become successful,I would surely contribute to the society in some way.My first aim would be to improve my village's condition and help the villagers in whatever way I can.Secondly I would like to organise any Foundation to give scholarships to the the meritorious but impoverised students.

Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
There isn't any specific incident but I get reminded of one such incident when I was in class 5th in the High School.One day I was just loitering in the school's balcony, suddenly our headmaster called me randomly in a senior class and told me to translate a sentence in Bengali to English. And somehow I was able to do that. The next minute, the prase I got from him made my day and a point stuck in my mind to do better in studies.But honestly speaking my real motivation lies on my parents and my grandfather. The hard work they have put in to keep my studies continue really motivates me a lot and I want to do something for them atleast in my life.

Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
My interests lie on playing outdoor games especially cricket and football. I like to watch sports matches. And my other hobbies are reading detective story books and watching movies in leisure time.
