I 'd like to become a Dakshana scholar and hopefully attend IIT because from my childhood, my goal has been to become an engineer and serve my country. After coming to Navodaya, when I was in class 8,and DC sir had come to my school, he had said that it has been observed that most students leave Navodaya after class 10 in order to prepare for engineering. However this will no longer be the case as those who want to prepare for engineering can give the Dakshana Foundation exam in class 10 and after clearing that, they can prepare for engineering in a structured manner thus getting into the IITs. In this way their parents are spared the difficulty of spending additional money. The entire coaching would be free of charge. Since I belong to an economically challenged family, after reaching class 10, I thought, why not give the exam and try and get admission in Dakshana Foundation and thus enter IIT, making my parents, village and society proud. In this way I would fulfill my ambition of becoming a successful engineer and serving the nation.
This is the reason why I want to join Dakshana Foundation and thus serve my country.
