JNV Maharajganj I'd like to become a Dakshana scholar and hopefully attend IIT
I'd like to become a Dakshana Scholar and hopefully attend IIT because I badly need it. Having not only seen but felt the hell of poverty very closely, I don?t want to let myself and my future generations sink deep and deep into poverty.
But at all the stages of my life, I would thank my parents and the Almighty God wholeheartedly.
Me, the fifth child of my parents was born when the family was badly poverty-stricken. There was no source of income. My father ran a small shop and could hardly make 20 to 25 rupees a day. It was really very challenging to run a family of 7 members.
After one year had passed after my birth, my mother got to work as a peon in a nearby convent school ? Little Flower, Maharajganj. The economic condition of the family was improving slowly.
One day in the year 1997, I too went to the school with my mother. The prinicipal sir, after seeing me, asked where I studied. I said I haven?t yet got admission in any school. Then he asked me to join his school the next day onwards and you will not be asked any fees. This act of kindness really proved to be a milestone in my life. After studying there till 8th standard, all free of cost, I appeared for JNV lateral entry test. Being a SC student and having strong foundation and the blessings of my parents and others, I qualified in the test.
After passing 10th standard, inspite of being poor I dared to dream about qualifying for IIT. I knew it was definitely too hard to do that with the study of JNV. Therefore I too carved to be coached in any coaching institute but the problem was that who would finance it. Thinking all these I decided to continue my studies in JNV.
Meanwhile I appeared for Dakshana Scholarship test but was not so sure of my selection. But now I feel extremely happy to be a Dakshana scholar.
Actually I consider especially Sir Mohnish and others who are a part of Dakshana Team, the second God. I am really very very thankful to them.
