Harshala Jambhulkar
JNV Gondia I'd like to become a Dakshana scholar and hopefully attend IIT
I did not know that there would be so much of difference between my past and future.
I would not like to compare my past life with my future life as my present life will decide my future.
Today, Sir has given me an opportunity to express my views about my life and also about Dakshana.I would first like to thank you for this opportunity.
When I look back into my past, I recall all the obstacles that I faced. In my childhood , I lived with my maternal grandparents. My father is in the army and my mother is a nurse. It was difficult for them to spend more time at home as it would create problems at work. My mother was busy in conducting surveys in many villages. But she still managed to do everything for us. I experienced my mother?s love till I was in my first class. It was a wonderful experience. God cannot be present with all children and that is the reason why he made a mother. My mother gave me so much of love in my childhood that I did not miss it for the next five years.
When I was class II , We shifted to our own village. My elder brother was in the 5th standard and my younger brother was a year old. My younger brother lived with my grandparents for two years. My father also lived with us. My real life started from this point. My brother and I did all the household chores. I learnt to bring water from well which was located half a kilometer from my house. I washed the utensils, cleaned clothes and swept the house. MY paternal grandparents and my aunts used to help me a lot.
In spite of doing all the household chores, I always did well in studies. I have been interested in studying right from my childhood. Teachers in my village school used to praise me a lot. My father and my teachers have played a very important role in my life. After my mother passed away, I spent nights crying and remembering her. When my younger brother started living with us , it was very difficult for us to manage things. All children like to play when they are small. I did not experience that kind of a childhood. In spite of this I tried to make my life beautiful. The biggest burden was on my elder brother. He could not continue with his education. I used to feel very sad for him. Had he not been subject to all, he would have studied very well. My younger brother was a little naughty from his childhood. He used to cry for all small things. When my father started working in Nagpur, he came home only on the weekends. My brother and I managed the house.
When I joined Navodaya in 5th standard, I used to keep worrying about my father and brothers. I was the first person from my village who joined Navodaya. I thought of coming back home when I father came to meet me in Navodaya for the first time. If at that time my father would not have encouraged me for staying back , I would not be undergoing this coaching for IIT-JEE.
I met good friends, teachers and seniors in Navodaya who always supported me. They always encouraged me to move forward. When I was in 8th class, my father remarried. I felt that my mother has come back in my life. I felt lucky to have experienced the love of two mothers. My father always said that we can survive only if we study. If we want to achieve something in life , then we have to study. He always presented the example of Dr. Babsaheb Ambedkar before us.
I have spoken a lot about myself. I would now like to say what I feel about life, my dreams and about what I want to grow up to be. A person?s life is based on his experiences, his work and his writings. Life is very beautiful. The little time that we have to live should be used to follow the correct path. I want to work so that ordinary people are benefited by my work. I want to stay amidst people to understand their problems and provide solutions to them.
Dakshana foundation has given me the opportunity to undertake coaching for IIT ? JEE. After knowing about my dreams, please do not misinterpret that I do want to study engineering
