My name is Arun Prabhakaran. My father?s name is V.C. Prabhakaran. He is a labourer (daily wages). My mother is housewife. Her name is Valsa Prabhakaran. I have one brother and one sister. They are studying in IVth standard.
IIT-JEE, the toughest exam in the world. I came to know about this IIT in my 10th class. Most of my friends told me that IIT is a good institute. Once if you enter your future will be safe and secure. So I decided to study for IIT, but I can?t because lack of study material. My father doesn?t have enough money to buy books for me. One day mt Vice Principal called five students including me and told about this Dakshna and it is giving free IIT coaching to the students. I became very happy. My Physics teacher Mr Sreenivasan who told me the topics and asked me to prepare well.
For two days, I studied all topics of 9th and 10th. Then the remaining days I left to God. When I saw the question paper, I became disappointed. I thought that I will not get. After the exam every day I used to pray to God and I used to look in the internet for result. It is on August 20 at 3.10pm by Vice Principal told me ?You have got selected by Dakshana Foundation?.
I don?t know what were my feelings then. I became equally sad and happy. My teachers told me not to miss this good opportunity.
One side I want to go and on the another I don?t because I don?t want to miss my parents, teachers, school, friends. But atleast I decided that I should go so that only I should achieve my aim. On the next day I went to my house and on August 23rd at 6.30pm I started my journey not to Bangalore Urban but to reach IIT. I did not have any feelings or emotions at that time. My only thought was that I should enter into IIT. Otherwise all the money that is given to me becomes waste.
Even though I did not know much about Dakshana but I will be always thankful to all and to my country. I will never forget you in my life. I am not thinking that is my effort that made me a Dakshana Scholar. It is only the blessigns of God. After attending my classes I realised that if I hadn?t came a great loss in my whole life.
My aim is to beacome a teacher like that of TIME faculty. This aim came to me when I feel how good teachers and dedicated to students. I strongly believe that I can reach my aim. I am interested in Electronics.
