Makan Kysumry Chothe
JNV Chandel Manipur I'd like to become a Dakshana scholar and hopefully attend IIT
Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
MK. Noah Chothe, He is my father. He is a farmer on his own land feeding a family of nine, including my mother. We cultivate rice in our field for consumption and the little amount of profit we get, we sell it. My mother's name is Silvery Tongsin, she is a housewife. She helps my father at the fields from the morning till lunchtime and comes home at noon. After having lunch they will rest till 2pm just when the sun's heat is not hot enough and they will go back to field again. My mom loves animals alot so we take care of domestic animals in our home so she will return home earlier than my father to feed and take care of the farm animals. We live in a joint family with my aunty and her son. Her husband is my father's brother but he passed away when my brother was young so my father also takes care of both of them. My aunty is a housewife too and my Brother has finished his studies and he is currently searching for a job. I have one elder sister, two younger sisters and one younger brother. My elder sister is pursuing her B.Sc Nursing in JNIMS Imphal and both of my younger sisters studies in JNV just like me, one in 10th Std and another in 6th Std. My youngest brother is the apple of the family and stays with my parents at home and he is studying in 2nd Std.
Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
I am a girl from a poor family with six siblings (Including my cousin brother). Me being the third. Ever since I was young there were no one to guide me about my future&career. I even thought about ending my studies and becoming a gamer. It was only when I reached 11th Std did I know about these competitive exams like JEE and NEET etc. But it was too late and I found out I was totally unprepared for it. I wanted to crack JEE but I did not have enough time for preparations and my Parents could not afford coaching fees for it so I had just decided to attempt it and if I did not get selected I would continue my studies in our nearby Govt. College. But then I heard about Dakshana. It was like a ray of hope for me when I found out they provide everything with free of charge and I got the honour to apply for it. I aspire to be an IITian and I will work hard for it. And I won't let Dakshana down.
Q3. What is your ambition in life?
Navy. It has always been my biggest dream but it is also one of the hardest to achieve with the fact that I am a girl. It was my ambition and it will always be my dream but for now my Goal is to take my first step of after 12 in IIT.
Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
I would love to spread knowledge about various scholarships for financially burderned childrens like me. I would love to bring hope in their life as it did to me when I first heard about Dakshana. Helping others has always been a priority for me and being successful won't change me infact it will increase my scope and I can finally help the students from my District in building their career because Chandel is an isolated district in the hills and the childrens there have no one to guide their future. Therefore I will be that candle that will light and guide their path for their future.
Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
I have intrests in surfing digital and electronic devices. I love playing MOBA games, listening songs and reading novels. I also love fixing broken things.
