The mission of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is to foster hope by providing spiritual, emotional and material assistance on a person-to-person basis to the poor, lonely and forgotten in the community. Tender Mercies maintains 134 units of permanent supportive housing and 16 units of transitional housing in 6 buildings in Over-the-Rhine. Lots of people were there sitting as well as socializing, so you can see that its just not a place they serve food instead it’s a community as well because I’m sure majority of these people come everyday so they have became a close knit family for each other. A big thing I have noticed with this program is the weather effects it greatly because the colder it gets the more people come in and eat because it’s a warm place they can spend a few hours in.
