The Dakshana Foundation has named it first Dakshana Scholar. Shashank Dube of Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh was awarded a full scholarship by the foundation to undergo 12 months of IIT JEE training at Bansal Classes - one of the best IIT JEE coaching centers in the world (www.bansaliitjee.com). Shashank is the son of a deceased pan shop owner who has virtually always topped his class. He is very passionately interested in attending IIT and becoming an engineer. While he did clear Bansal's admission test, his family's extremely dire financial circumstances made it impossible for him to get any type of coaching for preparing for the IIT entrance test.
Shashank was referred to The Dakshana Foundation by the founder of Bansal Classes, Mr. V. K. Bansal. We are very happy with this budding partnership between a best-in-class provider of IIT JEE coaching and our foundation. We expect that referrals from the leading IIT JEE coaching institutes is a very viable channel for Dakshana to identify deserving Dakshana Scholars.
Dakshana has paid Shashank's tuition to Bansal for the year and has taken care of all his room, board and incidentals. The direct expenses for supporting Shashank for the next year are expected to be Rs. 100,000 to Rs. 150,000 for the foundation.
The foundation is actively seeking a CEO to be based in Kota, Rajasthan. It is also looking for office space to set up operations in Kota. For more information, please contact:
