Dakshana has lived up to the expectations of all its stakeholders in the JEE Main 2017 results announced on May 27, 2017. The data corroborated from various Dakshana centres says that 449 of 460 Dakshana scholars who appeared for JEE Main 2017 have cleared the test and have qualified for the JEE Advanced. That's an impressive 97.6% achievement!!!

The batch of 70 Dakshana Scholars under its One-year Scholarship Program at its own residential campus near Pune has performed stupendously. 100% of the 70 scholars who appeared at JEE Main have qualified for JEE Advanced and have added another feather in Dakshana’s crown.

This year Dakshana helped 390 students from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, under its Two-year Scholarship Program, to prepare for the JEE 2017. These students were based at 7 of the 598 JNVs across the country. A total of 379 from 390 scholars have qualified the first step to now appear at the JEE Advanced 2017 and vie for a seat at the prestigious IITs across the country.

Abhilash Kar from Dakshana's batch at JNV Kottayam has secured AIR-23 by scoring the highest marks of 335 out of 360 in JEE Main 2017 followed by Prashanat Shishodia from Dakshana’s Kottayam batch who secured AIR-63. The third position was grabbed by Ayush Kumar from Dakshana’s batch at Hyderabad, who has secured AIR -116.

Since 2007, Dakshana Foundation has been working towards alleviating poverty through education. Dakshana offers a no-cost one-year residential scholarship (after Class 12) to deserving and needy students to prepare for engineering and medical entrance exams. During the one year programme at Dakshana campus, the students are provided free coaching, food and accommodation. Dakshana offers a similar scholarship program for two years in collaboration with the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas across India under an MOU with the MHRD, Government of India.

Colonel R K Sharma, CEO Dakshana Foundation, is happy that many female Dakshana scholars have qualified for the next level. "93 of 98 girls prepared by Dakshana this year have qualified at the JEE Main 2017. The percentage of girls prepared by Dakshana each year is three times the percentage of girls that study at IITs. The success of the Dakshana girls will surely encourage other girls to aspire to study at IITs which is still considered a male bastion. We offer this as our contribution to the Prime Minister's dream of educating the girl child under the 'Beti Padhao Beti Bachao' program of the government."

A total of 449 successful scholars of the JEE Mains are gearing for JEE Advanced slated on May 21, 2017. Dakshana’s aim of alleviating poverty through education is achieved to a great extent with every year’s success at the JEE. Dakshana is grateful to Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS), Dakshana’s staff, volunteers and coaching partners for the incredible results.
